“Karin Majoka (*1993) is a visual artist, photographer, and content creator based in Münster, Germany. Majoka has an academic background in psychology, which is why the interface between the human psyche and art are of special importance to her. Residue of human traces, perception of emotions in human interactions as well as the narrow path between realism and the subconscious in everyday life are her main focuses of interest. Her approach is defined by a loose photojournalistic style that pairs existential topics of solitude and transience with a nuance of absurdity and humor. Her current focus lies in film photography. Most of her images are taken on 35mm, 120 or 4x5" film, processed in her home lab. Further, she shares her creative journey on her YouTube channel Karin Majoka.”

Since April 2024, when Karin approached me, we have been working on creating the ideal website. We started by analysing her current site. It quickly became clear that something fundamentally new, something fresh, was needed. 
Together we developed a concept and tried to figure out how to create a website that would be exciting but not distracting. Karin wanted a personal website that would meet all her needs: a portfolio, a sales platform for her prints and a contact point for potential collaborators; a good challenge in my eyes.

Personal Touch

How do you manage to convey a sense of individuality in a sea of good photographers? Our answer to this question, which is not easy to answer, was: with her own handwriting! While I was working on color, typography and website designs, Karin presented me with her handwritten titles, which gave me a good idea of the project in terms of their variance and spelling. The mix of restrained, minimalistic design, very expressive photographs and an individual handwriting reflects Karin's work in an ideal way without distracting from the essentials.
